In our video, I talked a little bit about exercising, staying healthy and keeping our immune system healthy and boosted.
It's so important to think about these things always, but especially in the times we’re living in during this pandemic. I know it’s hard to get out sometimes, but there are so many things we can do right in our own home from just watching YouTube. If you go on YouTube you can easily find videos on yoga, Zumba and other home workouts such as Billy Blank. Some can be easy and some can be quite challenging. But for me I think it's important to GET YOUR SWEAT ON!!! And what I mean by that is to do something that makes you sweat and gets you out of your comfort zone a little bit.
As many people know from my classes or if you read THIS blog post, I train and teach Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and have for almost 10 years now. It’s my main way to exercise. And although marital arts is a great way to get exercise and to stay in shape, there are plenty of other things you can do to exercise even from home.
The only thing that is difficult about exercising at home by yourself is; it's really hard to get yourself motivated sometimes. So a gym is maybe a better place for people who can’t get motivated easily by themselves.
I also mentioned in our Instagram video about Wim Hof. He is a Dutch man nicknamed "The Iceman" who teaches many things to help boost the immune system and to stay healthy. Such as breathing exercises and cold baths or showers. I love his breathing exercises. And although the cold showers can be quite... cold and uncomfortable, if you do it often you will get used to it and actually start to crave it and want to take cold showers. I usually turn the water as cold as it will get after a hot shower and stand in the cold water for as long as I can. Afterwards you will actually feel warmer. Try it!
Whatever you guys do, just try to do something to get your sweat on, get your heart pumping and get some exercise in. Your body and your immune system will thank you!
